Unfortunately for me, but luckily for my cat, my career plans shattered when I had minor surgery on my foot and discovered my tendency to swoon at the minutest sight of blood. In between spurts of dizziness and nausea, I knew that no matter how fond of animals I was, I would not last one day as a veterinarian.
At this sudden twist of fate, I started paying more attention to my creative side. Every day, I could be found sprawled out across my bed with stacks of notebook paper with the scribbling of stories taking up every inch around me. My mom has many pictures to prove this. She must have constantly been lurking around the corner with her camera, and I was too absorbed in my writing to even notice the click and flash.
Writing has since become my biggest passion, a means through which I attribute significance and purpose to my life. I also have a love for making things from scratch (anything from cooking to crafting), living a healthy lifestyle, reading, traveling, and experiencing new things.
I’m an avid perfectionist who craves organization, a stress queen who worries too much for her own good, and an introvert who’s full of ambition and heart. My parents were always protective of me and set high expectations for success, which made me a bit of a ‘good girl.’ It's how I was raised, who I became, and perhaps, who I am.
As a "military brat" turned Navy spouse, I'm fully accustomed to living the military life of constant change. Memories from my 26 years of life are scattered in so many places - I've lived in five states (12 cities) and spent six years abroad in Japan.
My husband Leo and I first met in 2002, and he proposed to me in 2008, six years to the day since we first met. The majority of our dating years was long distance, as our love was stretched over hundreds of miles. We survived on the notion that we had something special worth keeping, even if we didn’t see each other as often as we would have liked. The distance was a constant test of my inner strength that, at times, caused more pain and struggles than I thought I could bear, but I perfected the art of not letting it get to my head and not letting it break my heart. It was far from easy, but it was worth the sacrifice. We’re stronger because of it, and I consider myself lucky to be with such a good man who makes me effortlessly happy. We eloped on the beach on May 23, 2009, with our immediate families by our sides.

In October 2009, we were blessed with a new addition to our little family – a Boston Terrier/Cocker Spaniel pup named Molly. She quickly became an integral part of our lives and, quite arguably, the queen of our house.

I’m currently pregnant with our first child, and despite new mom jitters, I’m over-the-moon excited to meet our baby boy in July.
A former aspiring writer (with a B.A. in journalism from Penn State University to prove my devotion), I currently bide my time as a full-time homemaker who's adjusting to my new life as a Navy wife and anticipating the arrival of our child. Previously, I've worked as an intern for a publishing company, an assistant store manager and orientation coach for McDonald's Corporation, and an event coordinator for Harley-Davidson. My career path is anything other than what I thought it would be, but I trek on, pulling experience from all that I can along the way. I’ll never give up the dream of one day seeing my name in print, but for the moment, my growing family is my priority and writing remains my hobby.
