How It Started

I started A Change of Pace in April of 2009 to reconnect with writing, to better document my life as I live it, and to better embrace life's changes. It's since become a reflection of my life – largely a collection of personal journaling and life musings – and has provided me with a constant source of enjoyment, inspiration, and comfort.

Promises to My Readers

As a Penn State University journalism graduate, I hold myself to a high standard of ethics, and I always strive to be honest and fair to the best of my ability.

Unless otherwise attributed or referenced, all content of A Change of Pace is the product of my creativity and is based on my personal thoughts, opinions, and experiences. In other words, it is copyrighted to me. This includes all writing, photographs, and graphics. (If you wish to use any of my original work, please contact me via e-mail to obtain permission.) When I refer to or include content that is not my own, the original source will be identified and/or linked to. I never intentionally post information that I know to be inaccurate, so please inform me if you notice an error, and I will be sure to correct it promptly.

OPSEC

Have you heard the old wartime saying, "Loose lips sink ships?" In a nutshell, OPSEC is the act of concealing and protecting sensitive information. As a military spouse, I have the responsibility to adhere to OPSEC because it is vital to the safety of my husband and his fellow service members. When I share tidbits from our military life, there will always be certain details that I will not divulge, such as full names, precise deployment/homecoming dates and locations, temporary duty locations, installation activities, ship movements, and other operations.

Product Reviews

Occasionally, product reviews are featured on A Change of Pace. If a review is sponsored by an individual or company, that information will be disclosed. Otherwise, I do not receive compensation for purchasing, using, or reviewing products. I am completely honest in my review of how the products work for me, and my opinions in no way reflect the views of the companies that manufacture them. Since everyone is different, please keep in mind that what works for me may or may not work for you.
